Equal Pay Act (76/2026 Z. z.)
The Slovak act transposing Directive 2023/970, in force since 7 June 2026 and the first full transposition in the EU.
Zákon č. 76/2026 Z. z. is the Slovak Equal Pay Act. It transposes Directive 2023/970 and took effect on 7 June 2026, making Slovakia the first EU member state to transpose the pay transparency directive in full. It sets the reporting obligation, the evaluation criteria a pay structure must be built on, the right of an employee to ask about pay, and the circumstances that trigger a joint pay assessment. It does not provide for an implementing decree, which is why the methodology behind a report is the employer’s own to build and defend.
